Two long weekends in a row due to Public Holidays and as Dave works a 9 day fortnight that means he has 3 long weekends in a row – which in turn means I do too! Being a stay at home mum means every day is the same, weekends or weekdays but I am definitely not complaining and know how lucky I am to have been able to have so much time off with all of my girls. The ‘holiday’, as men call it, is coming to an end soon though! I had better enjoy it while I can, the ups and the downs! Here are three things that made my week this week and brought a smile to my face.
Over the weekend we made the most of a fabulous Saturday and drove down to the Gold Coast. Thankfully we didn’t wait until Sunday as it rained all day Sunday. For Autumn we had fabulous weather and the girls enjoyed picking sea snails from the rocks and riding their bikes. I sat on a low wall, feeding Little F, staring out at this beautiful view feeling lucky to be alive. As she snuggled into me (and pinched the back of my arm!) I felt grateful for what I have in life and for where I live.
Another reason we drove down the coast was to visit a Teppanyaki restaurant that we went to once before (3 and a half years ago!). A friend from work recommended it and we took Little A when she was not even 2. We all loved it. We decided to go back with all the girls and were met with the same lovely reception. The staff are very kid friendly!! The girls loved it, although Little A got a big shock from the first burst of flames from the grill. They loved the involvement, the entertainment and the food! Little S, who is not a big fan of vegetables, tried lots of new things and ate so much more than we expected. I would highly recommend Teppanyaki as a family outing as it is so much fun.
Last but not least, Masterchef has returned! 2 years ago I watched it for the first time and gave up many hours of my life consumed by it. I’m a little more reserved now, dipping in when I have time and catching up on Tenplay. I love it though, watching the creations and the suspense!! Here’s hoping I learn a bit more from it this year and pick up some good tips.
