Last weekend was Mother’s Day in Australia, my first as a Mum to three girls. I have to say it was the most special to date. Our eldest two were so much more aware of what it was about and wanted to spoil me, which was so cute and gorgeous! It started on Friday at school where they both got to pamper me with massage, makeup and nail polish – as you can imagine nail polish done by a 3 and 5 year old is quite comical, while a 10 month old is climbing on me trying to get involved! Here is a beautiful gift that Little A made in school, it’s a tile with a picture of herself and me on it.
The second thing that brought a smile to my face was our very first capsicum (green pepper) that we grew in our veggie patch. Up until now the possum has munched every one that even tried to grow but for some reason he left this one alone! We were planning to leave it to ripen more to red but Little S was overly enthusiastic and ripped it from the plant by accident. Instead though we enjoyed it in our dinner this week, which was lovely encouragement for the girls to try it.
Finally I was so proud of myself getting up on Mother’s Day to do the MDC, only 8km I know – but it would have been so easy to just stay in bed. Instead I pushed myself a bit and raised money for Breast Cancer Research so double feel good about myself factor.
Let me know what makes you smile in the comments below…
