I have made the conscious decision to remove as much added sugar as I can from our diet. This started in October when we watched That Sugar Film and oh how that film changed my life (for the better)! If you haven’t seen it, watch it – now.
This has not been an easy change for many of us. My husband and I are self-confessed chocoholics. When I was breastfeeding Little S we joked that I was on the cake diet as no matter how much cake I ate I didn’t put on weight. Little A (5) has a very sweet tooth with Little S (3) following close behind!
I was shocked to realise how much of our food contains sugar (not just sweet food). We are unknowingly consuming teaspoon upon teaspoon of sugar every day. I knew I had to make some changes.

I have now become very aware of what is in the food that I buy, I keep packaged foods to the bare minimum and instead focus on fresh food. Along the way I noticed what I like to call some Sugar Shockers (food I did not expect to find sugar in), read about them in this post.
