Well today was day number 30, I made it through to the end. It was getting a little monotonous towards the end but I kept at it. I definitely feel a lot better for it, I feel fitter, healthier and stronger.
Along the way the whole family took part, Dave joined me for a day here and there and 1 or all of the girls regularly either joined in or climbed all over me.
I think it’s very important to give a positive, healthy body image to your kids, especially as I have 3 girls. I want them to understand the importance of exercise, keeping fit and healthy and enjoying a healthy lifestyle. I want them to grow up with a positive body image and to understand that exercise is just a part of life. We discuss how most activities are exercise – walking, dancing, playing in the garden, playing in the playground, swimming – that exercise doesn’t have to be a chore and can be fun. Hopefully they will grow up with a healthy positive attitude towards food and exercise.
With my new-found fitness I have decided to get back into running and have signed up for the Mother’s Day Classic, I took part 2 years ago and really enjoyed it so I’ll be back out this year donning some pink and raising funds for Breast Cancer Research. I’ll be enjoying a well-earned Mother’s Day breakfast afterwards with Dave and the girls.
Let me share my 30 Day Fitness progress with you. You can see me on Day 1, on Day 7, Day 17 and finally Day 30.
Hopefully some of you made it to the end with me but if not I hope I encouraged you to add a little bit of extra exercise into your daily routine. Keep at it, every little bit counts!
